Essential Oils 101: Premium Starter Kit Series Lemon Edition
I remember being so excited when my kit first arrived, it was actually around this time of year. The school year was coming to a close and the summer was about to get started. I felt eager to dive in but also unsure where to start. I saw 11 essential oils, the Premium Starter Kit now has 12 essential oils, and they were beautifully packaged and labeled but again I had tons of questions. You may be thinking that I always knew exactly what to do with my oils but the truth is that I still get questions to this day and I am thankful that I have a community of like-minded families sharing testimonies and resources.
Essential oils were a brand new thing for me, I joke with my husband because he actually used beard oils before I was on board. With little experience and education at the time, instead of putting them back in the box and hiding them under the bed, I turned to my leaders, my community and resources that were shared with me. For the first 6 months, I relied on my sister for help and guidance on how to actually use essential oils to support things that were going on my life. After purposely choosing to try essential oils in place of other things I saw that these things actually worked. I saw value in replacing chemicals and other toxins with these little bottles of essential oils. I personally know how you can feel when your a little unsure of how you can use the essential oils, but the best part about getting started with me is joining a community. I know that I’m never alone when I have questions.
Today I’m going to share some of the testimonies that I have from using Lemon essential oil. If you missed my previous post about Peppermint essential oil, you will want to know that my current focus is on you! Several people recently purchased their Premium Starter Kit, taking full advantage of the enrollment promotion that Young Living is offered in May, so I decided to create an educational series everyone can access. Contact me to see if there is a current promotion happening now if you missed the May enrollment promotion.
The Essential Oil 101: Premium Starter Kit Series is for everyone, whether you’re tracking the delivery of your new Premium Starter Kit, still waiting to unbox your Premium Starter Kit, or just a little curious about essential oils and unsure where to start. My hope is that this blog series will continue to help you understand the Premium Starter Kit essential oils and provide our community with a variety of ideas on using them everyday so that your oils are actually out of the box and supporting your family.
Learn to Love Lemon Essential Oil:
For the last three years, I don’t think that there’s been a month that lemon essential oil has gone untouched in our house. Immediately, lemon became an essential oil that both my husband and I reached for to support a variety of reasons that I will share below. Once I was motivated to remove toxic chemicals in our home, with the help of essential rewards, we continued to order a bottle of lemon basically, every other month. Although each season brings on different uses for lemon, it’s still one of the fundamental essential oils to support our lifestyle.
All of Young Living’s citrus essential oils are cold-pressed from the citrus rind but each offer their unique constituents and versatile traits. I felt Lemon essential oil was a really easy oil to start using from my Premium Starter Kit because it’s so bright and fresh.
Once you read through this post you will be adding lemon into many different parts of your lifestyle. There are many fun ways to use citrus oils, including lemon essential oil that I have discovered over the years and I’m excited to share with you.
It takes 75 Lemons to make a 15 ml bottle of Young Living Lemon Essential Oil
**Before we get started, there is safety to be aware of with Lemon Essential Oil. Just like peppermint and every single essential oil, it’s critical to consider safety because every essential oil is different and our bodies are all different too. I highly recommend having resources that provide even more information about how to use essential oils properly.
**There are two items to consider with lemon essential oil. The most important thing to know about lemon essential oil and all citrus essential oils is that they cause photosensitivity, so avoid applying to exposed skin before spending time outside within 24 hours. If I know I’m going to be in the sunshine I never wear essential oils that are blended with citrus oils or constrain any citrus oil on sun exposed areas of my skin.
**The second item of safety to consider is with Lemon Vitality Essential Oil. When using Lemon Vitality in food or drink, use glass, stainless steel, or ceramic mug. So with this, avoid using any plastic when using citrus vitality essential oils.
There are a few books that I recommend having as a resource if your using Young Living Essential Oils.

Back to School Wellness:
I use Lemon in my wellness recipe all year long, as a teacher, I am constantly coming in contact with things that try to bring me down. There are several essential oils that support our immune system, such as Lemon, Thieve, Raven, RC, Eucalyptus, Frankincense and Copaiba Essential oils. I often mix match some of these essential oils to make a variety of things to support my wellness as a person that works with a lot of people.
Wellness diffuser blend: Lemon, Thieves, Raven and Eucalyptus create an aroma that smells amazing. From fall through winter you can most likely smell these in my diffuser in my locker room office or living room.

I often use lemon right from the bottle for that burning heart or liver support, but you could also make a lemon roller. Simply put about 20 drops of lemon in a 5 ml roller bottle then fill the rest with fractionated coconut oil.

Skin: Lemon essential oil can be used to support skin but it is crucial to only use with the night time skin care. Lemon essential oil has been widely used in skincare to cleanse skin, support aging and bumpy skin. You can add Lemon to your evening DIY skin care routine. ** Avoid using lemon essential oil in any morning skin care product because it will cause photosensitivity**
