Essential Oils 101: Premium Starter Kit Series Lemon Edition
Lemon is an often highly-touted home remedy and common natural ingredient. It is all the craze surrounding detox drinks and goes nicely with your hydration efforts. It is extracted from the rind of the lemon through cold-pressing.
Lemon essential oil has many uses and can be used aromatically, topically, or ingested via the Vitality line. There are many substantial claims being made about lemon, some of which will require time and science to catch up with. The concept of essential oils in general seems to have created quite the buzz lately. If for no other reason, essential oils are an excellent alternative to the harms of the store-bought cosmetics, cleaners, and ingredients we expose ourselves to on a daily basis. Essential oils make eliminating toxins from your home much simpler than you every could have imagined. I personally learned a great deal (and am still learning) from valuable resources on such as my essential oil desk reference guide. Learn to Love Lemon Essential Oil
I can honestly say that there is rarely a week that goes by where lemon essential oil is not used in at least some capacity in our home. All of Young Living’s citrus essential oils are cold-pressed from the citrus rind but each offer their unique properties and versatile traits based on their source. There are many uses of Lemon essential oil, most of which you are going to learn later in this post. A few words on safety when using Essential Oils 1. Fresh & Clean Aroma Lemon essential oil will bring the fresh aroma that you desire into the home. With two large dogs running around our house, we often add lemon essential oil to our cleaning regiment and to the diffusers to keep the environment fresh in our home. Not only leaving our home smelling and feeling fresh. It also contains the natural constituent limonene, which is great for cleaning. We choose lemon often to stay above the wellness line which is why we choose diffuse this bright, uplifting, and invigorating essential oil into the air. Diffuser blends for the seasons
Clarity & Energy: Lemon has a very uplifting and invigorating aroma, just like lemon drop candy.
Energy & Clarity Roller Recipe: In 5 ml roller bottle, add 10 drops of lemon essential oil and 10 drops of peppermint essential oil. Using Lemon Around The House We like to use lemon for cleaning as well. It has worked well for us on everything from sticky marks on our windows to permanent marker stains on our counters.*
Seasonal Support I use use Lemon Essential Oil with Peppermint and Lavender all spring to tackle the springtime annoyances, which I covered previously! Spring Diffuser Blend: 3 drops of Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint Essential Oil Spring Roller Blend: In a 5 ml roller bottle, add 5 drops of Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint and Copaiba then fill the rest with fractionated coconut oil. Spring Capsule: In a “00” veggie capsule, add a drop of Lemon Vitality, Lavender Vitality, Peppermint Vitality, and Copaiba Vitality then fill the rest of the capsule with fractionated coconut oil by using a dropper. Put the other half of the veggie capsule on top and take with water. Back to School I use Lemon in my wellness recipes all year long. As a teacher, I am constantly coming in contact with things that try to bring me down. Lemon is important during "back to school" time. I also use Thieves, Raven, RC, Eucalyptus, Frankincense and Copaiba Essential oils. Wellness Support diffuser blend: Lemon, Thieves, Raven and Eucalyptus create an aroma that smells amazing. From fall through winter you can most likely smell these in my diffuser in my locker room office or living room. Wellness Support roller: In a 5ml roller bottle, add 5 drops of Lemon, Thieves, Raven, and Frankincense then fill the rest of the roller with fractionated coconut oil. I apply on the bottoms of my feet and up my spine every night. Wellness Support Capsule: In a “00” veggie capsule, add a drop of Lemon Vitality, Thieve Vitality, Frankincense Vitality, and Copaiba Vitality then fill the rest of the capsule with fractionated coconut oil by using a dropper. Put the other half of the veggie capsule on top and take with water. My heart’s burning: I apply a few drops of lemon to my chest or I add a few drops to a glass of water. You could also make a lemon roller. Simply put about 20 drops of lemon in a 5 ml roller bottle then fill the rest with fractionated coconut oil. Oral Support: I rub 1 drop directly onto gums to support healthy gums. Healthy-looking Skin Support: Lemon essential oil can be used in natural skin care but it is crucial to only use with the night or when avoiding the sun due to its' photo-sensitivity. Lemon essential oil has been widely used in skincare routines.
