Homemade Mermaid Hair Spray

Have you heard people talking about "Mermaid Hair Spray"?
Well, I did and this summer I decided to find out what all the fuss was about. I did some research in several books and discovered that there are a few recipes to support healthy hair out there. I believe these recipes have taken the name "mermaid spray" because our beautiful sea creatures typically have gorgeous, luscious, long hair!

I know that it's tough to find products that are chemical free for everything in your home, Young Living makes things fairly easy because of all the categories of products that they offer, although hair care is still fairly limited.

With my curly hair,  styling products have been part of my personal care collection since I was an awkward teen who finally figured out it was the best way to control the frizz.  Luckily, here I am still moving toward better and learning how to take care of myself.

It's pretty scary to read some of the ingredients that are found in my traditional styling mousse that I have used for about 15 years!

Here are some ingredients that I'm choosing to avoid by making my own Mermaid Spray. Feel free to click on the ingredient to find out what Environmental Working Group has to say:
  • Isobutane
  • Fragrance
  • Propane
  • Methylparaben
  • Phenoxyethanol

After giving my favorite Mermaid Hair Spray a try, I found that they are perfect way to support my curly hair after a shower.

Why to use the DIY Mermaid Hair Spray?
  • Those interested in a natural way to support hair
  • A fast and easy way for the tangles to be gone
  • Help keep hair shiny and silky in dry heat
  • Add volume and bounce to your luscious locks
  • Combat the accumulated effects of chlorine and bromine swimming pools

For me, I enjoy using this beautiful floral spray after my shower because of the aroma but also to add some shine and bounce to my hair. I use these sprays after a shower and I focus on the ends and roots of my hair.

How to use the Mermaid Spray

I enjoy using this beautiful floral hair spray after my shower to support healthy-looking hair. Plus, it smells great!

I have discovered that I really enjoy using these sprays on my damp hair after a shower or swim. These are great natural hair products to support luscious locks and provide the look of healthy, mermaid-like hair (even if your not a mermaid)!

For extra care, I actually use my mermaid spray before I go to bed too, and my curly hair really feels a difference. The lavender essential oil and cedarwood essential oil are both essential oils often used to support around bedtime, so by spraying this in my hair  at night I get twice the use from this spray!
