Young Living Essential Oils Workshops

Teaching a workshop on essential oils should be a fun and enjoyable experience. It is an opportunity to share your passion for oils with attendees and assist them in their quest for improved health and wellness. Sound like a daunting task? I assure you, it is not as hard as it seems!

Here are 5 of our favorite themes when hosting an "Essential Oil Workshop":

  1. Host a "Live Your Passion Rally"
  2. Provide Tips for Healthy Food and Drink Recipes
  3. Product Education and Personal Growth Seminar
  4. Make and Take: Essential Oil Roller Blends
  5. Make and Take: Elderberry Syrup Recipe

1. Host a "Live Your Passion Rally":
I hosted a Live Your Passion Rally at my house. Young Living hosts global Live Your Passion Rally (LYPR) events every quarter. Leaders are able to host them privately or publicly to provide education on essential oils and share exciting announcements from Young Living. This is also a great time to share the following with attendees: education and exciting looks at new products, training and business-building tools, and ways to work toward personal growth. Hosting a LYPR is a great way to introduce anyone interested to essential oils!

For me personally, I have discovered a new passion by teaching wellness workshops. At my last to LYPR events, I hosted my own private workshop. Trust me, it is much easier than you think. Check out this flyer from Y.L. on hosting a private event. It is very simple and provides a very useful checklist when preparing for your event. A private event works very well because I can choose to introduce the material in a way that is specific to the people I am expecting to attend. The Live Your Passion Rally’s have always turned out to be a fulfilling event to share our love for oils, inspire more people to live a life of wellness, and allow our community to focus on purpose and abundance!

I have been very grateful and truly blessed for all the friends, family members, and new community members that have attended our events. We have had a lot of fun at these community events and look forward to many more in the future. At the rally we are able to share about our journey, chat about oils, and get to know one another on a more personal level. These events allow you to gain support from a community that you have grown familiar with and come to trust through personal interaction.

To those of you who are interested in hosting an event, however still have jitters about doing so alone, please contact me to let me know what is holding you back. I am happy to help in any way I can! These events are such a great way to share testimonials and provide insight on what makes Young Living a unique essential oil company. I have gotten a majority of my folks started with essential oils just by having them attend this event and providing education on how to use a starter kit. Once you see how easy and fun these events are, you will certainly be excited to host one of your own and be ready to have people start signing up under you (each starter kit you "sell" using your member link gets you a $50 commission).

Here is an example of one of my events that I hosted at a library.
2. Provide Tips for Healthy Food and Drink Recipes:
This has been a crowd favorite. At some of our events, we prepare healthy food and drink options for our attendees with Young Living products. This is a great way for them to enjoy the workshop and give them an opportunity to try Young Living products. Here are some ideas that we have used in the past:
  • Red Club: The Ningxia Club Red is always a popular hangout at all of the Young Living hosted events! One of my favorite parts of the Young Living Convention is attending "Club Red" to order a Ningxia blend. A common theme for starting our private events and workshops is a ceremonial Ningxia Red mocktail.
    • NingXia Red® blends NingXia wolfberry puree with super-fruit extracts and pure essential oils for a whole-body nutrient infusion that supports good health and overall wellness. This signature supplement provides energy support, supports normal cellular function, and contains powerful ingredients that are involved in many natural antioxidant processes.*
    • Our version of a Ningxia Red Shot is 1-2 oz. of Ningxia Red with a few drops of Young Living Vitality Essential Oils. My oils of choice for this shot are any of the following: Thieves, Lemon, Lime, and Grapefruit.
    • For a Ningxia Red Mocktail: I use plain seltzer or Ningxia Zyng, then add 1-2 oz. of Ningxia Red, and citrus vitality oils to taste. These mocktails are a great pick-me-up!

  • Wolfberry Muffins: I made Wolfberry Muffins using Young Living’s Organic Dried Wolfberries. I', so excited to share this recipe, because they turned out to be so simple and yummy. Again, something that I have put off doing but used the workshop as motivation to try something new. See, I bought the package of  wolfberries in the summer and I actually haven’t really used them. I have eaten them a few times right from the bag, as a quick healthy snack, and they are really good! When I bought them in the summer, I really got them for the dogs. It's a great way to support a healthy immune response. My black lab, Harper, really loves them. When I get the bag out of our pantry she just knows its a snack she can have and enjoys. Sometimes,  I put a few in their water bowl or right into their food. But for us, the Wolfberries are great on top of yogurt, in oatmeal, and in cookies,  muffins, or homemade bread. Here’s the recipe that I used for the muffins on Saturday
    • Wolfberry Muffin’s Ingredients:
      1 cup Dried Organic Wolfberries
      4 cups Einkorn Flour
      2 ½ teaspoon baking powder
      ½ teaspoon baking soda
      ½ teaspoon sea salt
      3 large eggs
      ½ cup dark brown sugar
      1 ½ cup almond milk
      4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
      2 tablespoons blue agave
    • Wolfberry Muffin's Directions:
      • Preheat the oven for 375 degrees and line the baking pan with paper liners.
      • Begin making the batter. Blend the following: flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
      • In a separate bowl, stir the eggs until they are smooth, then mix in brown sugar, almond milk, unsalted butter, olive oil, and blue agave.
      • Once the liquid mixture is blended well, pour it into the dry mixture.
      • Blend the liquid and dry mixtures together in the large mixing bowl and fold in the Dried Wolfberries into the batter.
      • Once blended, spoon the batter into the lined cups on the baking tray.  Fill the cups about ¾ the way full so that the muffins have room to rise as they bake.
      • Bake the muffins on 375 degrees, for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the muffins.

  • Einkorn Snacks: I love that Young Living has become a wellness company offing a variety of products for all areas of the house. Einkorn products have made their way into many of our healthy cooking recipes. I love these products because they allow me to eat some of my favorite grain snacks all while including ancient unrefined grains (most modern food products are refined grains). At an event, we occasionally set up a yogurt mixed with Y.L.'s Einkorn Granola, Dried Organic Wolfberries, and Young Living Einkorn Cereal. These snacks are filling and provide long lasting energy throughout the day. Don't forget, Y.L. also has Einkorn Crackers.

3. Product Education and Personal Growth Seminar:
We recently began discussing with our event attendees the concept of S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time line. Hosting a "seminar" like this will allow you to interact with anyone attending to glean insight as to how their life might improve utilizing more natural products in their home. Young Living offers many products that help make working towards improved health and wellness a bit simpler.

You may take this opportunity to introduce many products that you are excited about. Perhaps you can discuss the Einkorn products discussed above. Perhaps even Ningxia Red can be a focus of the event. Maybe updates on the new starter kit or latest monthly promotion from Young Living will be highlighted. You might even want to take the time to share some anecdotes as to how you have used a particular product to in a way that has truly changed your life (remember, be compliant with this one!).

At a recent event, we introduced the Fresh Start Kit which is a limited-time kit for building a strong foundation for a new you! Here is what the Fresh Start Kit includes: MultiGreens, Allerzyme, and Inner Defense.
  1. MultiGreens are a nutritious chlorophyll formula designed to boost vitality. These are a great way to provide your body all the green vitamins and minerals everyday, one easy way to use your Multigreens is by opening the capsule and blending the powder into a smoothie or shake.
  2. Allerzymes have become one of my favorite supplements. It is a vegetarian enzyme complex that promotes healthy digestion. I use Allerzymes after big meals around the holidays, but those that could use the support of healthy digestion everyday (all of us) or occasionally. These little guys are magical!
  3. Inner Defense is another household favorite because it reinforces systemic defenses and contains potent essential oils for healthy immune system support. I take Inner Defense especially around times of travel and crowded airports. I especially take this throughout the school year to aid in natural immune defense.*
The Fresh Start Kit is only available until January 31 or while supplies last. It's a great way to get three of our favorite supplements for a little better deal!

We also took the time to introduce another limited-time New Year's starter kit: the ResOILution Set. This set has a collection of essential oil blends to help bring you the most successful year yet!

I have to tell you that they really put together essential oils that will inspire and provide willpower to achieve goals. The ResOilution Kit comes with Envision, Motivation, and Abundance, my three favorite oils that help get me going mentally.
  1. Envision Essential Oil can stimulate feelings of creativity, support the visualization and focus for goals.
  2. Motivation Essential Oil may promote feelings of action and commitment, great for getting started and working on goals throughout the year.
  3. Abundance Essential Oil, one of my favorites, welcomes joy, peace, and a positive environment.
Our ResOILution Kit is available until January 31 or while supplies last, and it too is a great way to purchase three well loved oils for a better price then separate. The ResOIlution kit can be purchased as a quick order by signing into your account.

4. Make and Take: Essential Oil Roller Blends for Goal Setting
Using oils aromatically can have a significant impact on how your mind works. Please consider the following excerpt regarding essential oils when used aromatically (smelling them via a diffuser or application) from ScienceDirect:
The mechanism of their action involves integration of essential oils into a biological signal of the receptor cells in the nose when inhaled. The signal is transmitted to limbic and hypothalamus parts of the brain via olfactory bulb. These signals cause brain to release neuro messengers like serotonin, endorphin etc., to link our nervous and other body systems assuring a desired change and to provide a feeling of relief. Serotonin, endorphin and noradrenalin are released from calming oil, euphoric, and stimulating oil respectively to give expected effect on mind and body [2], [31]

Consider that the sense of smell has a direct connection with the limbic system. The limbic system plays a major role in regulation of emotion, mood, memory, motivation, and behavior. Specifically for our goals, essential oils may be able to support us to keep you motivated and bring back strong positive intentions as you begin your journey to improved health and wellness.

An example of a roller to support a positive, inspiring, and encouraging mindset is a combination of Abundance, Envision, and Motivation essential oil blends. We have also used Joy, Gathering, Hope, Believe, Valor, White Angelica, and Inner Child to accomplish very similar positive intentions. Using these oils for a make and take event allows you to send event attendees home with some essential oil blends they would likely never get to experience.

Here is a couple examples of rollers you can make at an event:

Choose Joy:
My first roller, will support me throughout the year with being more present and positive in more situations. I blended Joy with Gathering Essential Oil and diluted them with Fractionated Coconut oil into a 10 ml roller. This roller is excellent in providing support throughout the year and will allow you to remind yourself to "Choose Joy" whenever possible! This roller smells great too which makes it an excellent way to eliminate toxic perfumes from your beauty regimen.

Crushing Goals:
The second roller that I made was my “crushing goals” roller. I blended Motivation, Abundance, and Envision Essential Oil with Fractionated Coconut Oil into a 10 ml roller. These are three of my favorite essential oils, and I'm always surprised by how my everyday life seems to align when positive affirmations and wearing abundance.

You can always choose other essential oil roller recipes for your specific event. For all resources related to essential oil, please check out our tools and supplies page.
5. Make and Take: Elderberry Syrup
I have been hearing so many people talk about elderberries and thought it would be a great idea for hosting an event. It turned out to be a huge hit. I have actually been meaning to add Elderberry syrup to my regular wellness regimen so I decided to take the opportunity to teach a class on it to enlist some motivation.

Elderberry Syrup has been all the rage lately, and there are many reasons why! Elderberries (Sambucus) are a  genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae. They are said to support the immune system, bone health, and they have also been cited as a natural anti-inflammatory. They have been used for years as a natural cold and flu remedy. Elderberries are known to be a potent antioxidant which is important for supporting healthy cells. They are also high in Vitamin A, B, and C.

When making Elderberry Syrup, we tend to add some Vitality Essential Oils to the cooled syrup. I highly suggest doing the same if you are hosting make and take workshop and sharing with friends.

Ingredients for Elderberry Syrup:
  • ⅔ cup elderberries
  • 3 1/2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of raw honey
  • Young Living Vitality Essential Oils

These are the vitality essential oils I added, there are several to choose from.
  • 2 drops Cinnamon vitality- Promotes a healthy immune response*, culinary spice that has been used for thousands of years, Includes the naturally occurring constituent cinnamaldehyde
  • 2 drops Clove vitality - Promotes a healthy immune response*, Includes the naturally occurring constituent eugenol
  • 2 drops Ginger & Nutmeg vitality- Ginger may calm occasional nausea* and support a healthy lifestyle regimen. Nutmeg may support cognitive function, immune support, and promotes antioxidants.*
  • 2 Frankincense & Lemon vitality- may support healthy immune system function*.

Directions for Elderberry Syrup:
  1. First, pour water into a saucepan and then add elderberries.
  2. Bring the elderberries to a boil, cover and reduce to simmer for about 45 minutes.
  3. Allow the liquid to reduce to about half and then at that point, remove them from the heat.
  4. Let them cool to lukewarm, so that you are able to handle the mixture.
  5. Begin to mash the elderberries carefully using a spoon or flat utensil, then pour through a strainer into a glass jar or bowl.
  6. When the Elderberry liquid is no longer hot, add the raw honey, and desired drops of essential oils.  You can also discard the elderberries that have been separated from the liquid.
  7. The elderberry syrup should be stored in an airtight container in fridge, I put mine n an 8 ounce mason jar, and it’s good for about two months.

You can use Elderberry Syrup for a lot of different things, I will simply add it to my Ningxia shot every morning or add it to my afternoon smoothies. I’m excited to add it to my yogurt parfait or my morning oatmeal, for a natural delicious taste that will support my system too. When feeling under the wellness line, I’ll simply have a spoonful a day.

To prove how much we love our syrup, we dedicated an entire post on how to make your own Elderberry syrup!
