How Young Living Essential Oils Changed My Life!

I want to share a little about my journey and how I stumbled upon this amazing lifestyle. Many of you know the story of how I got started using essential oils. For those who do not, long story short my sister got me into them. She insisted that the best way to go was a premium starter kit and that I would learn everything else on the fly. The most important thing was that I quickly eliminated harmful chemicals from my home by using oils instead! Now I find that this is my primary message to anyone interested. To be honest with you all, I previously was not in search of something "natural" for in my home. I just simply wanted to know what worked and what did not, regardless of potential health implications. I, like many, thought that the natural stuff did not work as well as the commercial stuff. I thought of the natural cleaners at the store compared with industrial cleaner and figured I knew which one was healthy and which one worked. Little did I know, these are not mutually exclusive product traits. Sure, the commercial products might work, but at what cost? I honestly never knew until I started looking up some of my common household items! Honestly, I was left enraged and in a panic the first time I did this level of research (if I only knew about Lavender back then). 

As a health and physical education teacher, I knew that I had to find a better way to improve the lifestyle of our family. Health and wellness have always been a priority of mine. I exercise, eat healthy, and I thought I was taking care of myself. Little did I know, there is a little more to wellness for those willing to explore. By removing these chemical health risks from our home, I was hoping to do just that. This is when I got the premium starter kit.

These seemed effective because they created a burning sensation along with accompanying redness (which I later learned is a sign of irritation, NOT EFFICACY). After I got the redness and burning to calm down I would apply lotion because of how dry my skin would feel. I am guessing you may think this sounds like a never ending cycle of high stress. Stress is important to consider as studies have shown that high stress is also related to increased acne prevalence. Great, the cycle continues...

NOT ANYMORE! Why? Well, this might sound a little cliché, but I started using essential oils! Before I started with essential oils I would have never found relief for my skin.
