to me There are many helpful tips that I have picked up on over the last couple years to help with getting better sleep. We really try our best to do as many healthy habits through the evening and bedtime because of how important it is to get quality sleep.

The research over the last decade has been pretty convincing, to me at least, that quality sleep is essential for good health and sleep deprivation can be detrimental for a person of any age, with short and long term consequences.

Learning about sleep and the impact that our circadian rhythm has on a physiological level has truly been motivating to do better in this area of our lifestyle for better overall wellness. I find it pretty interesting to read current sleep science and research to stay informed. If you're interested then I encourage you to look through some of these publications too: here, here, and here.

Although essential oils are not the only thing that I do to help with getting better sleep, I have found that using essential oils during my evening routine has been beneficial because the aromas bring a sense of relaxation before going to sleep. There are so many different essential oils that have balancing properties that calm the mind and body which may be helpful for children and adults to get a good nights rest.

Life is always happening and sometimes it's hard to just shut it down for the evening. If we have a to-do list to get to in the morning, a final exam, conflict with a friend that's on our mind, these things can be stressful and make it challenging to go to bed. There are many essential oils that have properties that m
ay promote feelings of calm or help fight occasional nervous tension often faced when going to bed while still thinking about the items on your mind. It might be hard to know exactly what is keeping a child from sleeping well but keeping to a healthy nighttime routine may support them too.

As I have said, Young Living offers many essential oils to support creating a peaceful, calm, and relaxing environment. Although not everyone will enjoy the same essential oils, it is worth figuring out which oils support you at night and use them consistently.

Dream Catcher is a desired essential oils for many families. I want to share a good pillow spray recipe using Dream Catcher Essential Oil that could come in handy during a bedtime routine or even during meditation. You could stick this spray in the guest room to help comfort a friend or family member. Spray it on your linens, pillows, or favorite children's stuffed animals when bedtime is challenging. The soothing aroma of Dream Catcher may be exactly what someone needs as they rest their head on the pillow!

Ingredients for Sweet Lullaby Spray:
  • 2 oz. Glass Spray Bottle
  • 10 Drops Dream Catcher
  • Pinch of Epsom Salt or splash of witch hazel

Directions for Sweet Lullaby Spray
  • Add all ingredients in the 2 oz bottle and shake before using.
  • Spray this onto pillows, sheets, and stuffed animals before getting into bed!

Dream Catcher Essential Oil
  • Dream Catcher is an essential oil blend with lingering citrus scents, grounding accents of Juniper and Blue Cypress, and floral notes of Ylang Ylang and Jasmine, this complex aroma helps create a relaxing environment.
  • Dream Catcher is designed to harness the power of positive dreams and has helped so many little ones and adults sleep pleasantly!
  • Dream Catcher has a soft, soothing scent that is perfect for bedtime.
