Delicious & Healthy Key Lime Smoothie Bowl with Avocados 

My husband and I love making healthy smoothie bowls and enjoy them often. We have found it's an easy way to replace unhealthy refined sugar and processed snacks or cereals. We eat these smoothie bowls after a workout, for breakfast, or even as an afternoon snack.

After making our own smoothie bowls for a few years now, we  think it's an easy way to create a healthy option filled with nutritionally dense super-foods! Not only are we able to reduce the harmful effects sugar has on the body but we're also now adding beneficial and essential nutrients needed for healthy body functions.

This delicious Key Lime Smoothie Bowl offers high quality fats, amino acids, and even creaminess from the avocado but all you will taste is the zesty, citrus flavor by adding Lime Vitality. You could even add more greens to this recipe if you desire by adding a little spinach.

Try swapping out ice cream or morning cereal with this delicious recipe. Trust me the whole family will enjoy!  

Ingredients for Key Lime Smoothie Bowl:
  • Unsweetened Almond Milk or Unsweetened Coconut Milk or Water
  • Organic Whole Milk Yogurt or Greek Yogurt 
  • 1 Organic Apple 
  • Frozen Organic Banana
  • 1 Avocado  
  • Hemp Protein or Whey Protein - We have found Naked Whey, Young Living Chocolate Protein Complete, or Whey Fantastic- Pure Grass Fed Whey Protein to be high quality protein with limited unwanted, processed and added ingredients.  We rotate through using these three brands. 
  • Organic Coconut Oil or Organic Coconut Manna 
  • 3-5 ​Ice cubes 
  • Organic Coconut Chips
  • Ground Flax Seed 
Directions for Key Lime Pie Smoothie Bowl:
To make the perfect smoothie bowl, I add all liquids to the blender, then add dry ingredients, then finish with the frozen. 
  • Add 8 oz of unsweetened almond milk / coconut milk to the blender. Add more  for thinner smoothie and less for thicker smoothie bowl.
  • Add 1/4 Cup of organic whole milk yogurt 
  • Add 1 Tablespoon of coconut oil or coconut manna 
  • Add 1-2 Tablespoons of ground flax seed 
  • Add 1-3 scoops of whey protein. We have found these to be good, healthy sources of protein: Naked Whey, Young Living Chocolate Protein Complete, or Whey Fantastic- Pure Grass Fed Whey Protein
  • Add 1 apple and 1 avocado 
  • Add 1 frozen banana
  • Add a few ice cubes if desired 
  • Blend for 1-2 minutes
  • Pour mixture into glass bowls to enjoy as a smoothie bowl or pour into glass cup to enjoy as a smoothie. 

Additional Smoothie Bowl Toppings: 
Once Smoothie is poured into bowls we enjoy adding these toppings.  
  • Stir in 2-3 drops of Young Living Lime Vitality Essential Oil in each bowl (*Remember only use citrus vitality essential oils in glass)​
  • Sprinkle Unsweetened Organic Coconut Strips 
  • Sprinkle Ground Flax Seed
  • Sprinkle Young Living Einkorn Granola 
  • Add a few Unsweetened Dark Chocolate Chips 100 Percent Cacao 
  • Add any additional fresh banana slices.
