How to Make HOMEMADE Deodorant Sticks that Last!
For the longest time I have wanted to attempt this DIY deodorant recipe. My husband and I continue to pay attention to the ingredients we surround ourselves with, especially ones we expose ourselves to everyday!
No offense, but I hope that most of you are wearing deodorant everyday. The trouble is, even when you thing that you are avoiding aluminum, phlatates, and parabens, there might still be health risks lingering in your antiperspirant. For example, take a look at the score of my husband's previous daily deodorant choice. Very surprising! Here are some of the ratings from EWG and concerns for his previous deodorant choice: HIGH (hazard score) for:
Talk about a real eye-opener!
We knew things needed to change and we needed to try something new.
We had been talking forever about trying this recipe and just kept putting it off because it sounded difficult. To our great surprise, it's not difficult at all! It's actually very simple and I must admit, it lasts a really long time as well!
Here are the ingredients we used
Here is how we made it
Once melted, combine the following while stirring lightly:
Allow them to fully solidify and cool prior to using. For faster cooling rates, you may place into the refrigerator.
This recipe was honestly a lot more fun than I expected.
What's even better is that each stick really lasts along time, even with the two of us using it simultaneously. The most important factor is that it works! We have been so impressed by how it outlasts our old deodorants throughout the day. I must admit, there will be no looking back after this one. I fully expect that we will continue making our own deodorant forever at this point! Please share this with a friend. Comment below on your experience to help out your fellow community members. We have contemplated using Lavender and/or Purification as well. Please share if you give those a try.
