How to Make "Christmas Spirit" Room Spray for the Holidays

11/18/2019

Get in the holiday spirit with an easy DIY room spray!

As the holidays approach a particular emphasis on aromas arise whether we realize it or not. Think of your average retail store and what you will find as you enter. Candles, plugins, sprays, and air fresheners all within reach of the checkout area. I cannot emphasize this enough, stay away from these products! Here is why.

So How Can We Enjoy Holiday Aroma without the Associated Harm?

It is actually fairly simple. Make your own products!

For those of you nervous about this, you have to read 5 easy DIY products!

Room sprays are so easy to put together and require only a few ingredients. They make for an affordable gift that all people can put to good use in their home. The easiest place to use our room sprays would be in the bathroom. A simple way to eliminate fragrance filled products in my home was creating DIY room sprays.  Here is a great recipe for the winter season!

Ingredients for Room Spray:
  • 2 oz glass spray bottle
  • 15- 20 drops of Young Living Essential Oils
  • 1 teaspoon Thayer's Witch Hazel
  • 2 oz distilled or gravity-fed water

Directions for Room Spray:
  1. Drop about 15 drops of essential oils to the 2 oz glass spray bottle. Around the winter holidays, I like to use Christmas Spirit Essential Oil, but you could use any essential oil that you enjoy. Thieves, Lemon, Orange, Cinnamon, Purification, and Citrus Fresh are all great essential oils for making room spray or bathroom spray. I typically put anywhere from 10- 20 drops of essential oils into a 2 oz spray bottle, change the total of drops depending on how strong you are looking for your room spray.
  2. Add about 1 teaspoon of the witch hazel.
  3. Fill the rest of the spray bottle with distilled or gravity-fed water.
  4. Put the spray top on the bottle and label with decorative sticker or vinyl.
